Center for Excellence in Engineering Education Projects

A Comprehensive Strategy Based on Established Best-Practices for Increasing Female Minority Participation and Success in Engineering

Supported by: US Department of Education

This project focuses on a cohort of incoming engineering freshmen students each year. The first cohort of students (summer 2010 cohort) will be provided opportunities to interact with peers and professors. They will be assigned projects along with mentors. They will also participate in workshops to improve their student skills, research skills, etc. This process will be repeated each year and each year previous students will become mentors for the newcomers. The grant provides support such as stipend, travel and supplies for both undergraduates and graduate students.
